2019 ICU World Cheerleading Championships to Stream LIVE on 26 April on the Olympic Channel


MADRID – The Olympic Channel global digital platform presents LIVE streaming coverage of the 2019 International Cheer Union (ICU) World Cheerleading Championships that takes place from 24 to 26 April in Orlando, Florida, United States. LIVE coverage of the finals begins at 12:00 ET on Friday, 26 April and will be available subscription-free at olympicchannel.com, its mobile apps and on connected TV devices.

The 11th Annual ICU World Cheerleading Championships will host approximately 3,000 athletes from 75 nations competing across 26 disciplines. Core categories include Coed Cheer, All Girl Cheer, Doubles, Pom, Hip Hop, Jazz and Para Cheer.

Teams to watch include the host country and cheerleading pioneers, USA, the defending champion in the Coed Premier division; last year’s surprise All Girl Premier champions Finland; All Girl Elite favourites and 2018 bronze medallist Chile; and 2018 Coed Elite silver medallist  Colombia who return looking to take the top spot. Strong teams representing England, Canada, Germany and Slovenia are also expected to make a strong showing in Orlando.

ICU became a recognised organisation of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in December of 2016.
