FIE 2019 Grand Prix Series to Stream LIVE on the Olympic Channel


Fencing coverage begins Sunday, 27 January with the finals of the Doha Grand Prix event

MADRID – The Olympic Channel global digital platform presents LIVE streaming coverage of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) 2019 Grand Prix Series. Coverage of the finals of each stop in the series will be available worldwide at and on its mobile apps.

The FIE 2019 Grand Prix Series features nine events beginning with epee in Doha, Qatar from Friday, 25 January to Sunday, 27 January. Following epee competitions in the series include Budapest, Hungary from 8-10 March and Cali, Colombia* from 3-5 May.

Foil competition begins in Turin, Italy from 8-10 February with further stops in Anaheim, California, United States from 15-17 March and Shanghai, China from 17-19 May. In sabre, competition will take place in Cairo, Egypt from 22-24 February, Seoul, South Korea from 26-28 April and Moscow, Russia from 24-26 May.

The world’s best fencers from each discipline will compete throughout the series including team Olympic champion Yannic Borel (FRA) and the reigning world champion Mara Navarria (ITA) in epee. In the foil discipline, Inna Deriglazova (RUS), the champion of all three events in the FIE 2018 Grand Prix Series, returns for 2019 along with two-time Olympian Lee Kiefer (USA). The sabre field includes Olympian and current top-ranked Eli Dershwitz (USA), Olympic medallist Junghwan Kim (KOR), and three-time world champion Olga Kharlan (UKR).
