The Olympic Channel is seeking to fill a position as Archivist to be responsible for supporting the creation and maintenance of the audiovisual archives and catalogues of the Company.
The Archivist will work closely with content producers ensuring that relevant media is properly documented and archived. In addition, this position will provide support to users regarding content and archive collections enquires.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a keen ability to use proficiently Media Asset Management (MAM) tools and metadata combined with a general knowledge of Olympic sports. The Video Archivist will report to the Archive Content Manager.
Archive, catalogue and document digital assets with MAM tools using appropriate terminology and standardized information, with awareness of rights and restrictions.
Ensure metadata enrichment process is properly handled through the chain from ingest point to deep archive and report any inconsistencies.
Support the daily operation of the Olympic Channel archiving in a timely and effective manner the original content produced or acquired.
Perform assigned tasks, workflows and activities related to the media physical storage system.
Contribute to generate, maintain and update the vocabularies, taxonomies and structured metadata.
Create and curate catalogues and collections of media.
Research information on multiple platforms to support documentation efforts.
Perform quality control and test processes as necessary.
Apply and ensure that all rules for access and distribution of video content are followed.
Report operational or technical issues in a timely manner.
Support users of the MAM system in searching for specific footage and elaborate documents to describe workflows and procedures to support these users.
Provide activities reports.
University degree, preferably in Library and Information Science, Communications, or equivalent.
Experience in cataloguing and curating media assets.
Knowledge of MAM, CMS and Information management tools.
Detail oriented, team player. Good organizational skills, able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
Good communications skills. Ability to work efficiently in a multicultural English spoken environment.
Flexibility and fast learning abilities.
Ability to research, analyse and give shape to information.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and spreadsheets with functions.
Knowledge of using and manipulating XML metadata files, SQL, is a plus.
General sports knowledge across multiple sports with focus on the Olympic ones is a plus.
Experience in broadcast and sport production is a plus.
