Job Description

Olympic Channel Services is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Systems team. We are looking for somebody who has passion for scripting, coding, automation and doing everything as code.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute positively to the technical design of our Infrastructure. Identifying areas of improvement, suggesting and designing solutions
  • Combine open-source and commercial technologies to build services that will have an impact on the business
  • Work in a heterogeneous environment containing diverse operating systems and applications, and make them work well together
  • Apply modern engineering methodologies such as infrastructure as code, Linux container orchestration
  • Propose automation improvements based on business requirements or current trends in technology
  • Act as mentor to junior team members and increase knowledge sharing and collaboration skills improvements

    • Job Qualifications

    Strong knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP protocols and OSI model

  • Knowledge and understanding of VPN, IPsec, DHCP, DNS, HTTP/s
  • Expertise troubleshooting medium to large Network Environments and familiarity with packet sniffers: Wireshark, Tcpdump or Network Monitor/Message Analyzer
  • Experience with Infrastructure / Network Administration / Virtualization / Linux and Windows Servers
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience working with Public cloud environments (Amazon AWS, Alibaba Cloud)
  • Experience in monitoring tasks and tooling supporting SNMP, SYSLOG, such as Zabbix, ELK stack, Grafana, Datadog
  • Experience in configuration and maintenance of applications such as NGINX, Apache, PostgreSQL, MySQL, NFS, SSH
  • Excellent level of communication in English
  • Knowledge of a modern programming language such as Python3, JavaScript/TypeScrypt, Golang, Java, and/or scripting, Ansible, etc
  • Participate in 24x7x365 on-call rotation
