Olympic Channel Presents Two Live Shows to Celebrate One Year to Tokyo 2020 from Tokyo, Japan on 24 July

MADRID With the excitement growing for next summer’s Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, the Olympic Channel presents two shows, both titled “One Year to Tokyo 2020 Live Special”, on Wednesday, 24 July. The global digital platform will stream a 30-minute, live show in Japanese hosted by Olympian and two-time World Champion figure skater Miki Ando at 15:30 JST and followed by a second live show in English hosted by Olympic Channel news reporter Ashlee Tulloch at 16:15 JST.

Coverage from the Tokyo International Forum in Tokyo, Japan will stream live at olympicchannel.com, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

The Olympic Channel’s exclusive “One Year to Tokyo 2020 Live Special” will include special guest appearances, interviews, cultural features and fan interaction. During the interactive live shows, viewers are invited to send comments, participate in online polls and suggest questions for the presenters to ask the featured guests by using #1YearToGo on social media.

Fans can also take an active part in the one year to Tokyo 2020 celebrations on social media by wearing the “Olympic rings sunglasses” filter on Instagram. The special edition filter is available for 17 days via the @olympicchannel handle starting on 24 July.

Tokyo 2020 will take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020 in Japan. Next summer’s premier event will feature more than 10,000 athletes from more than 200 nations competing for 339 gold medals in 33 sports. In addition to traditional summer sports such as athletics, gymnastics and swimming, Tokyo 2020 will welcome five new sports, karate, skateboarding, softball and baseball, sport climbing and surfing, to the Olympic programme.
